Who are A Merrie Noyse?

Barry and Sue Pope (aka: A Merrie Noyse) are Musicians that perform medieval and Tudor music in period costume on authentic instruments such as the renaissance guitar, shawm, recorder and bagpipes. They regularly perform at a number of historic venues including National Trust properties, private houses and museums and play at early music events and historic re-enactments. They also offer a national curriculum linked service to schools.

Barry graduated from Birmingham Conservatoire after studying the trumpet. Following a successful career as a brass band conductor, he is now a Consultant Psychotherapist in NHS and private practice.

Sue is a history graduate and works as a museum education officer in Worcestershire. Sue also plays in brass bands and both Barry and Sue form two quarters of the Diabolus in Musica Shawm Band.
